Ministry of Youth and Sports Announces Major Visual Arts Contest

The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports has officially launched one of the country’s biggest art competitions under the Egy Talents initiative. Titled "Draw the Leader", the competition invites artists to pay tribute to legendary Egyptian actor Adel Imam through creative visual artworks.

A Tribute to a Cinematic Icon

In its announcement, the Ministry encouraged participants to create portraits, illustrations, or full scenes inspired by Adel Imam’s diverse characters across film, television, and theatre. The competition is open to all forms of visual arts — whether hand-drawn, sculpted, digitally illustrated, or mixed media.

The Ministry praised Imam’s lasting impact, stating that his recognizable features and simple presence carried deep messages, adding:

“He redefined success on his own terms, showing that authenticity and dedication—even in acting—can lead to true leadership.”

Generous Cash Prizes for Winners

The competition offers substantial prizes to the top winners:

  • 🥇 1st Place: EGP 30,000

  • 🥈 2nd Place: EGP 25,000

  • 🥉 3rd Place: EGP 20,000

  • 🎖 Special Jury Prize

Art Material & Size Guidelines

Artists may use any medium or technique of their choice. Guidelines include:

  • Minimum dimensions: 50 x 50 cm

  • Maximum dimensions: 150 x 200 cm

  • For 3D works: size must range from 40 to 150 square cm

  • Digital works must comply with print size specifications

The evaluation panel includes notable figures from Egypt’s art scene:

  • Dr. Ahmed Moussa

  • Dr. Mourad Darwish

  • Dr. Ahmed Saber

Eligibility and Submission Rules

To participate:

  • Age range: 18 to 45 years old

  • Artwork must be original and unpublished, and not entered into any other competition

  • Artists must submit three high-quality images of their process, including the final work, with dimensions and materials specified

  • Selected participants are responsible for framing or presenting their pieces for the final exhibition
